I have never felt so unwelcomed at a church, in my life. My husband, my mother inlaw, my sister inlaw and myself were meeting my mother half way between Knoxville, TN and Portsmouth, VA; to drop off my mother and sister inlaw with her so she could drive them the rest of the way. We chose the church because it would be a safe and accepting place for family to meet. Boy, was I wrong. I understand that it is "private property" but the two women that came and approached us, while we were hugging and saying our goodbyes, were very rude and definitely not very "Godly" women. We were very polite to them and expalined what we were doing there. They were scoffing at us, talking down to us and giving us the most awful looks, the whole time. I know that a couple of bad apples don't define the quality of the bushel but that was a terrible way to treat people. No matter what.
